The Devil Always Has The Best Music
Steve Bowles
As we come slowly to the end of yet another terrible year of the 21st century what can we say? We can say that the devil always has the best music. Gods come and go and false gods are often thrown into the pits. But the devil remains and the devil is the only one to beat.
Damn the Gods and curse those souls. Such is not difficult. But just try and beat the devil. Just try. See where you get.
Let’s face it. To worship the God or any God is to sacrifice and to then seek salvation. Far better to sell your soul to the devil. It pays that way. Pays well too. Good business today, it is. Yoda says so too and so does Dobby.
As ”we” find hundreds of millions of unemployed people in the world today we celebrate the devil itself. Smile he does and smile she does. This devil even laughs as it grows stronger by the minute. The more unemployed people there are in the world the better it is for the devil itself. Such is the natural order of things when the devil has the best music.
In the 20th Century, after those disgusting and hurtful wars, there was a feeling around and about. That was a feeling where many wanted to be ”Middle Class”. That is good consumers and good Europeans, for once. We can all be nice and easy Middle Class people. Such was one piece of music from the devil. This song sold well and it was a big hit.
War in the 21st Century is just as disgusting and hurtful. But these contemporary wars are played with new music. The music today is played for everybody that must be a fat cat, a winner, a celebrity and a minority.
In Europe the battle rages, yet again. Will the fat cats win from the blue corner or will they lose from the red corner. Nobody asks about the referee and judge. The devil has already seen to that issue.
In fact the devil laughs. All that talk about the end of ”left” and ”right” politics was a theatre. It was just a showtime. The judges and the jury were already well organised. Just try to beat the devil, if you can. See where you get.
The big question today is this: how can hundreds of millions of unemployed people dance well with the devil?
