New Tax Plans For A Puritan Government In Debt
As so many European governments wobble under the heavy weight of debt obligations we find solutions. For every solution there must, of course, be a moral dimension to back it all up. This moral code today is puritan. Those that are pure in thought, word and deed may pay less taxes. But those deviants and the impure must pay more.
The latest example of this puritan tax code comes from Germany. There it is strongly put forward that the fat people should pay more tax. This is because they are fat and to be fat is a deviant act and impure. These fat people in Germany are a heavy weight to handle in society. They are too expensive and they must change their ways. They must pay the penalties for being in a State of Sin. Fat people are a big burden for those that live their lives correctly.
The German politician from Saxony, Mr Marco Wanderwitz, is pressing hard for this new form of ”Fat Tax”. Such puritan ethics lead us all to ask the question: Wonder which (sori) other impure types can be penalised? How can we be more ”Social” in our law-making churches? What are our Guardians of Truth to do to help us deviants?
Of course, there are numerous examples of other impure deviants that must suffer and repent. The thin people are another deviant group. They do not eat enough and they are wicked. This is because the society needs people to eat well and serve the consumer-culture finances. Thin people simply do not ”put out” enough for the social good. Even when they take a shower they waste so much of the water. In fact most of the water misses them. What a waste. So we tax the thin people more too. Until they repent and change their ways.
Then we have the selfish and sinful car drivers. Those that cost our hospitals and emergency services so much money. Deaths on the roads are another burden upon a society that wishes to live correctly. What we must do is tax them more and then lead them into redemption by giving them public service transport. This public service transport would have the driver as one of the thin people. (Fat people not allowed). Thin people could then sit on their arses all day long and put on some weight.
This is the collective ethic at work.
You see that now we link the deviants together and work them together in order to maximise the good life. This is the collective ethic that is needed today. If Finland had better mixed President Martti Ahtisaari with Anneli Jäätteenmäki then we would never have been in this mess. Many people say that.
What is needed today is a government that understands the puritan ethics of taxation and the collective ethics of the good life. We need to find edification and political moral guidance from traditional nursery rhymes like this:
”Jack Spratt could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean;
Betwixt them both
They licked the platter clean.”
Now if our Martti and Anneli had learnt from that nursery rhyme just think about it. Or would we just be starving cats and dogs waiting under the table for little pickings that might, with any luck, come our way? Would Martti have become thin and our Anneli fatter? Worth a thought for the weekend anyway. (But who would they have taxed then?).
Have a good weekend
