The Male Species Is In Deep Trouble
No matter where we look we see that the male of the human species is doing rather badly. The male species is, in fact, in deep trouble. It is time for us males to totally reconsider our position in society. It is also time for us males to totally reconsider the good life and stuff like happiness and contentment.
This male problem is not just confined to Finland. This male problem is quite global in terms of the statistics that can be used to measure aspects of alienation generally. In many places the male of the human species is showing signs of being ”out of place” and even lost. In many places this is also attached to absurd aggression and pathetic patterns of behavour. It should worry us that we still have so many males in top positions of industry and politics.
One big worry here is that few want to admit this problem of the male. In politics, mainly a male clan, deep discussion of the male gender is almost forbidden. Top officials find it much easier to talk in terms of alcohol problems or even of problems that relate to Hollywood heroes like the Hulk, Superman or the Terminator.
Let us get one thing straight here. It is not alcohol that beats the shit out of women in Finland. It is the male. It is not alcohol that beats the shit out of dark-skinned foreigners in Finland. It is the male. Please let us get this straight. We are lucky to be able to realise that most people that drink alcohol (even rather much on a friday night) do not go around in a fit of rage beating up women and foreigners. We also know that the female, as yet, rarely does this. Thank god that most males do not do all this either. But still this problem is mainly a male problem.
Unfortunately when we look at places like the Middle East or Asia it is again the male that continues to be violent. It is the male that behaves like a discontented and sacred pig with a bad hair day.
Do we males have some screw loose in some places or do we just thrive on nasty aggressive behaviours? Why do males love powerful guns? Is this some damned cover-up for that penis that is never big or long enough?
If our females earn more money than us do we really need to go on a rage about town and kick a black arse? Do we males really need to punch our female partners?
Oh yes we males have much to reconsider I think. It is high time for males to reconsider the facts.
There is one saving grace. We have known, reasonably well, for many years that to be male is very much more than to be born with a penis and a few odd biological destinies. To be male is a social and cultural construction. The problem with this knowledge is simple. Today more and more women work hard to control social and cultural things. The poor male is losing control. About time too say many. But think about it.
Another saving grace is that we know that wars and structural brutality are not at the mercy of genetic odds and sods. Wars and structural brutality is political and is empowered by the political-economy.
But I remain confused. Why do so many women seem to enjoy and to encourage male silliness? Am I missing a few things here?
Anyway after writing this I feel the urge to let off steam and to burn rubber. I want to rev that car and spin wheels even if it is a very expensive way to feel good and happy. I feel the need to make noise!
And again if there is anybody out there that can really prove to me just why my brains cannot be in my underpants then write on and send in your thoughts on this matter. What is wrong with having our male brains ”down there” I ask.
