Postman Pat Pits His Wits Against Germany
The latest news from the World Cup football is lots and lots of fun. England will play Germany again. It seems that Germany is not too bothered as they fear Holland much more. But the gossip goes on. The UK tabloid press loves all this England versus Germany bit. The main metaphor is war. England goes back into battle. The UK tabloids have been using images of Winston Churchill this far.
Unfortunately for the England camp there is another big story going around which will not go away. The media world has finally seen the likeness of the England manager, Fabio Capello, to the famous Postman Pat. Can the England team really be under the control of Postman Pat? Can this man really deliver?
This Postman Pat image is really sending a big message to the English army that must beat Germany again.
Can we imagine Postman Pat giving a big speech before the final battle? Would he say:
”Never in the field of human conflct
was so much owed, by so many,
to so few...”
Or is all this just a piece of propaganda coming out of the German camp?
